When I tell you I went into this expecting something SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT—

I thought there’d be more Silveny!

I thought Sophie would run away!

I thought Keefe would manifest as a Mesmer—though I was halfway there.

I THOUGHT KEEFE WOULD BE FINE AND NORMAL!

I just… I can’t!

Let’s start with the files—the positive bits at least

These were an even “alright” for me.

I enjoyed the medical record for Sophie. That was interesting, to say the least.

But the best part—Keefe’s files.

My favorites!

Ooo! I’ve got it! “He Knows Foster Than You Do! Better Than She Even Knows Herself!”

Though… keeping it real? The Foster Oblivion can be kinda not cool sometimes.

Actually, you know what? It’s none of your business, but but I’m going to add one thing: Foster gets to do whatever she wants, okay? She can like whoever she wants. Or be confused about what she’s feeling. She can even be oblivious—it’s her life. Her choice. And everyone needs to stay out of it.

The not-so-great bits

I have complaints!

One: the files are registry files. As in, a way for the Council to stalk everyone.

So why are there gaps in the information?

I’m not talking about the abundance of [redacted]’s, I mean the “we don’t have conformation this happened” stuff.

Is stalking every move of everyone and knowing everything still not everything?

Two: *inhales aggressively* SHANNON WHY TAKE AWAY ALL THE INFORMATION WE COULD’VE KNOWN ABOUT KEEFE AND REPLACE IT WITH LITERALLY JUST KEEFE.

WHY. WHY? WHYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!

All this section proved to me was: how much I actually love Keefe, how much Shannon hates us all, and how much Keefe simps for Sophie.

Don’t even deny it. He’s a freaking simp.

Anyway, it was a mistake for me to buy this book because I read the memories at least once a week and cry every time—
