Nah. I pushed the thought aside. Saving the world? Me?
The ornaments were talking in hushed tones, so I couldn’t really listen in, so I went back to sleep.
In the morning, I woke up, ate, went to school, blah de da.
Although, something interesting happened at school that I think I’ll share.
So when I got to school and started to class, I saw a random guy staring at me.
“Uh, hi.” I said. “I’m Melody.”
He said the creepiest thing: “I know.” I had never seen this guy before! What the heck?! “I’m Jayden. So you know about… the Christmas thing?”
For a second, I thought he meant the ornaments thing. Then I remembered the Christmas dance. Oh god, was he trying to ask me?
“Yeah no, nice offer, but thanks, no thanks.” I started to walk away.
“Wait! I mean the… ornaments.” That stopped me.
“What ornaments?” I asked slowly.
Jayden just looked at me. “I can tell you know. What stage are they at?”
I looked around. “Discussion. At. Study Hall!”
He nodded curtly, then vanished. Into the crowd, I mean.
That was strange, I thought as I hurried to class. I sat through a long lecture about something as my mind wandered away.
💙💙💙
So back to my house. This night, the ornaments (I’m going to call them the problems at this point; I’m sick of the word ornament) for some reason didn’t rise or whatever. The tree shook and trembled but no problem occurred.
Hm. I couldn’t tell if that was a victory or a loss. Maybe both, I didn’t know.
I went back to bed, hoping for answers in the morning.
